Welcome to Encouragement Ministries

Roy, with wife Eleanor, has been in ministry with the AOG for over 30 years and has six children - four have been in ministry.

The family commenced ministry with the Full Gospel Church in Cairns after training in the CRC Church in Geelong. The Brakes joined the AOG Church in Cairns, with Roy becoming Senior Pastor and serving as district leader encouraging the smaller works. On invitation of Pastor Andrew Evans Roy joined team at Paradise and planted a new church which is now Mount Barker. A move to the south of Adelaide to Morphett Vale lasted about ten years with Roy serving as as Senior Pastor and also serving on the AOG State Executive, encouraging many churches in the district.

The Brakes have ministered all over Australia and England, with a ministry trip also to Germany last year. After planting about ten churches in Victoria and a return to Adelaide, Roy and Eleanor are based at Paradise Community Church working with the Seniors Ministry.

Roy and Eleanor now spend most of the time engaged in encouraging church leaders and churches across the country and overseas. They have set up Encouragement Ministries Inc to assist leaders and churches to fulfill their God given destiny
